Wednesday May 27th 2009: Tonight @ 6.30pm Elder Marurai Heiarii has
been set apart as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter Day Saints by our stake (Tahiti, Papeari Stake) President, Alfred
Brothers. Elder Marurai's family was present among some members of his
ward (Tiarei). President Brothers counseled Elder Marurai to serve
faithfully, to be obedient to the mission's rules, to love the people
where he'll serve and to love their culture. His bishop Thierry
Maraetefau shared his testimony. His mom did also share her testimony.
She cried but was really happy for the right decision her son did by
deciding to serve a mission. She'll miss her son for the next 2 years.
After the closing prayer everyone when to congratulate Elder Marurai.
He did cry as well. We'll miss him a lot and he is also the first full
time missionary in the ward since it has been created 11 years ago. It
meant a lot for us to see him leaving. It's also the first time for
Elder Marurai to leave the islands and to travel overseas. This will
have a great impact in his life and we wish him all the best.
